I've been into Petz for a long time. It's the whole reason I ever learned to use a computer and the internet in the first place! One of my earliest memories is playing Dogz I on the family computer. When the later games came out, my mom would download petz and breedz at work and bring them home for me on floppy disks. I met my first online friends through Petz and not only am I still in contact with some of them, I went on to meet my other wonderful, amazing best friends through sites that were Petz-adjacent. ♥

The first iteration of my own personal Petz site was called "DragonFlower Kennelz & Cattery", which was a website I ran with a couple of my IRL friends... way back in elementary school! It's lost to the void now, but I have a lot of fond memories of it, haha. It never really took off in the PC (to be fair, we didn't really try) but we had a lot of fun running it.

Eventually, as one does, I fell out of Petz. My interest was rekindled in 2005, a few years after I moved away from my hometown and my old friends. I was inspired to start a new Petz site by my lovely friend Rika @ Myst-Woven - thus Alchemy was born! It got its name because at the time I was really into the Fullmetal Alchemist anime - Alchemy's original layout was even entirely FMA-based LOL... It ran for a good 3 years before my computer died and I couldn't get Petz 4 to reinstall!

While I thought about Petz often, wondering if the community was still alive and reminiscing fondly about all of the good times I had in the PC, I didn't actually think to check in on it until 2018. That's when I found out that RKC was still active, and people still played! It was very exciting, and I jumped right back in with my next website, co-owned with my sister: Oatmeal Milk!

Unfortunately Oatmeal Milk didn't really get the chance to take off... My sister lost interest pretty quickly and it felt strange to go forward with our joint idea without her... so I awakened Alchemy from the dead, and here we are. c: It's been a rocky road, but I imagine we all feel that way for the most part, LOL. It's good to be back though. ♥

(Unfortunately I never learned how to code a website... kinda kicking myself for that one TBH...)

♦ 30s

♦ New Hampshire, USA

♦ Non-binary • Asexual • Demiromantic
♦ Any pronouns but they/them preferred

♦ Doting parent to three dumbass sons (they're cats)

When I first joined the PC I went by "Mog" and then when I came back in 2005 I was simply "PhantomEvilKing" or "PEK". In 2018 I tried out "Ghost" but it didn't stick. When my sister and I started Oatmeal Milk I chose "Hanako" because it's the name of my favorite Sim LOL. I briefly tried going by Phoenix/Nyx but since that's... my real name... it felt weird to do that. So Hanako it is!

All of this to say you might sometimes adopt a pet from me with one of those other names, and it's just because I forgot to change it. :')

♥ Emo / Pop-punk music but I'll listen to absolutely anything.

♥ Movies / TV shows other people would genuinely classify as bad. Nicolas Cage is my favorite actor, so, uh. Make all the judgment you need to based on that. Also a big fan of anime (surprise) although I haven't been very good at watching it lately.

♥ "Cozy" video games and horror video games. Stardew Valley and Silent Hill are two of my top favorite games ever and someday I would love to be able to make my own game that's a combination of the two genres. :")

♥ Books, but specifically queer fantasy (high or modern).

♥ Any arts and crafts I can do with my hands but I have ADHD so I have that cute fun quirk where I focus all of my time, money, and energy into something for 3 days and then discard it, never to touch it again.

♥ Bugs, eels, mustelids, and crocodiles/alligators are my favorite creatures.
